Want to feel like a kid again?
Take the family – or a date – to Dave & Buster’s in Westminster. The massive, 40,000-square-foot restaurant and entertainment venue features a full menu and bar as well as more than 200 high-tech games.
“We have a lot to offer – we’re more than a restaurant,” says Jean Bax, special events sales manager. “We do a lot of private parties, corporate and teambuilding events, and all-day meeting packages. We have simulator games, billiards and shuffleboard, and we incorporate our games into our special events. You can do everything under one roof.”
The concept for Dave & Buster’s originated in the late ’70s in Little Rock, Ark., where two entrepreneurs ran bustling businesses – one an eatery, another an entertainment complex – next door to each other. They merged their businesses in an empty Dallas warehouse in 1982; today, Dave & Buster’s has 50 locations nationwide.
“Our menu specializes in burgers and wing platters, and we also have chicken dippers, Philly steak rolls, pasta, seafood, and fish and chips,” Bax says. “The teriyaki sirloin steak is fantastic, and so is the char-grilled salmon. Then there are fabulous desserts, like bananas foster and our popular Belgian chocolate fondue.”
Dave and Buster’s isn’t the only thriving Metro North eatery named Dave – Famous Dave’s Barbecue in Thornton also attracts throngs of hungry patrons.
Famous Dave’s specialty is hand-rubbed, hickory-smoked, St. Louis-style ribs slathered in award-winning sauce. The menu also feature sandwiches, fish, char-grilled burgers, chicken and Famous Dave’s signature All-American BBQ Feast, which is served on a garbage can lid because that was Dave’s first backyard smoker.
Additional restaurants in the Metro North region include American Samurai Grill & Sushi, Angela Palincka, Bistro Qdoba Mexican Grill, El Jardin Martinez Mexican Restaurant, Holy Cannoli, Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, Village Bistro, and Village Tavern.
