Two Hospitals Being Erected in Aurora
Published Apr 17, 2008

The doctors will see you now – in Aurora.

This city of more than 300,000 residents is getting two world-class hospital complexes. The University of Colorado Hospital and the University of Denver Health Sciences Center are currently under construction there.

The University of Colorado has already opened a $145 million Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, a $120 million Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion, a $29 million Anschutz Cancer Pavilion and a $509 million Children’s Hospital. When all construction is completed in 2008, the university will have spent more than $1.5 billion in hospital construction efforts.

Meanwhile, the University of Denver Health Sciences Center will add to the already strong bioscience job numbers in the area. More than 80 percent of the bioscience jobs in the state of Colorado are clustered in the Metro Denver area.
